Waddup, Bio101

Taking the first few steps toward your dream course was not easy. Mind you, if you love the course and the course doesn’t love you back, you’re in big trouble. But despite the hardships we all went through with this course, I can’t help but recall some of those bittersweet memories I personally had that made me smile and sad. Reminiscing all of those seemed like time flies too fast that I thought of our first meeting happening just yesterday. And that very first meeting we had, I already learned a handful of good and memorable things worth keeping.

First, I learned how to discipline myself in class. On our first meeting with our professor, she readily oriented us about the do’s and don’ts inside her class. Also, our professor gave emphasis on the interest that we are supposed to draw to the subject, or else we are free to move out of the door. Biology is an interesting subject, but it still depends on the student if he wants to develop this interest or not. At that very moment, I started telling myself that I should move away with my wicked ways in high school and be a good student this time. Next, I learned to value time management and responsibilities. Having this kind of course is really hard because it requires you a lot of reading, analysis and memorization to do so you really have to study and prepare yourself. I also learned that as a college student, I am carrying the responsibilities of studying hard and doing my best. If in high school I can still afford to skip my books and notes every night, now it’s a different story. Lastly, I learned the value of perseverance. In everything you encounter, be it a ladder to success or a stumbling stone, you must persevere hard enough to achieve it or surpass it. To summarize all the learning I had, the general principle I learned was to strive hard. If you got a low mark on a certain quiz, crying over it would not help but instead, you must get back and do your best next time, for the next quiz.

Our learning on this course can better aid us in our future aims and goals of being doctors someday. This is just a preparation for us to be well oriented about the basic concepts in order to understand the complex ones in the next years to come. Also, the course serves as building blocks in our foundation of Biology. This is just the start of our journey in venturing the study of life, so if we are up for the challenge, we must really strive hard in doing our best and in studying hard in order for us to learn more and be able to maximize the lessons we’re having.

Hopefully, this course will better serve its function of helping students like us to learn and discover the science within our little minds. With fingers crossed, we hope to be successful someday in our aims in unleashing our efficiency and inspiring others as Biology students.

This marks the start of your long and ruthless (kidding) journey towards studying life and every essential thing about it! Don't be afraid my KA-BIOs!! Lol you'll be fine I swear. Just be ready to give it your all and never give up!

Lastly, never ever forget to have fun. Learning is fun. Biology is fun. Put them together, learning biology is @#$%^&*!!! (You get what I'm saying now, don't you? :) )
